In response to questions from Lusa about the normalisation of operations, TAP said that it “added a total of 858 seats in each direction of travel, seeking to respond to the retained traffic” and that “some passengers on the cancelled easyJet flights were also protected on TAP flights”.

Today (7 July) and Tuesday, the flights scheduled on E195 aircraft were changed to A321neo (+103 seats), others on A320 were changed to A321ceo (+42 seats) and another on A330-200 was changed to A330-900 (+29 seats), adding a total of 368 seats in each direction of travel.

Two extra flights were also created on Tuesday morning, one with 269 seats and the other with 221.

More than 30 flights were cancelled at Madeira International Airport on Sunday, between arrivals and departures, and 15 were diverted to other airports due to strong winds in the eastern part of the island.

Since June 30, more than 100 flights have been cancelled at Madeira International Airport due to strong winds.
