"The flight landed safely and calmly, after the usual procedures in such situations were followed", TAP said about flight TP212, which was already heading to Porto.

A source told Lusa that the medical emergency was caused by one of the pilots feeling unwell.

A source from the Sub-Regional Emergency and Civil Protection Command of the Porto Metropolitan Area indicated that the incident, recorded at 10:12 am, mobilised around 60 firefighters and 22 resources from several fire departments in Greater Porto.

In addition to the four fire departments from Matosinhos, firefighters from Maia, Vila do Conde, Trofa, Ermesinde, Gondomar and Paredes, as well as teams from INEM, were involved in the operation.
