According to rapid air transport statistics, Lisbon airport handled 10.7 million passengers until April, which corresponds to 52.4% of the total and an increase of 2.3% compared to the same period last year.

Porto airport handled 23.0% of the total passengers handled (around 4.7 million; +4.5%), while Faro airport recorded an increase of 8.1% in passenger movement, totalling 2.3 million.

The United Kingdom was the main country of origin and destination for flights, with growth in the number of passengers disembarking (+2.5%) and embarking (+1.8%) compared to the same period in 2024.

France, which did not register significant changes compared to the same period last year, fell to second place, followed by Spain, Germany and Italy.

During this period, there was a 0.7% growth in the movement of cargo and mail at national airports (13.8% in 2024), and the movement of goods at Lisbon airport represented 78.4% of the total, reaching 63,930 tonnes (+2.3% compared to the same period in 2024).

Across the other airports, the movement of cargo and mail fell by 4.6%.

Analyzing the month of April alone, 6.5 million passengers and 21,400 tons of cargo and mail were handled at national airports, corresponding to growth of 8.1% and 1.7%, respectively, compared to the same period in 2024.

In the month under analysis, an average daily disembarkation of 109.9 thousand passengers was recorded, 8.3% higher than that recorded in April 2024 (101.5 thousand).
