According to the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF), the match against the Irish team will be played on 11 October, with Hungary's visit scheduled for three days later, both at Sporting's stadium, which is currently undergoing renovation work.
Portugal's debut in Group F will take place against Armenia, in Yerevan, on 6 September, three days before visiting Hungary, in a match scheduled for the Puskás Arena, in Budapest.
These will be the first two games for the Portuguese team after winning the Nations League for the second time this month, thanks to a 5-3 victory over Spain on penalties, after a 2-2 draw.
The winners of each of the 12 groups will qualify for the 2026 World Cup, which will be played in the United States, Mexico and Canada, with the second-placed teams playing a knockout round to determine the last four European countries to qualify.
