For three days, two of which are already sold out, the former Madalena campsite in Vila Nova de Gaia, in the Porto district, will host national and international artists on five stages.
The festival will open with Scorpions, a German rock band founded in 1965 by Rudolf Schenker, who has sold over 100 million records.
Before Scorpions, whose performance is scheduled for 11:00 PM, the stage will be taken by Xutos & Pontapés, a Portuguese rock band formed in late 1978.
On this day, the festival also features Hybrid Theory, a Portuguese tribute band to Linkin Park that, since its inception in 2017, has stood out for its fidelity to the original band's sound, and musician Marvin King, who released his first solo album, "El Dorado," in 2020.
On Saturday, when the venue is practically sold out, it will be Thirty Seconds to Mars' turn to take the main stage with their sixth studio album, "It's The End of the World But It's A Beautiful Day," released in September.
Portuguese bands Miguel Araújo and Os Quatro e Meia, Nena and Joana Almeirante, and Luis Trigacheiro & Buba Espinho make up the rest of the lineup for the second day of the festival.
The 26-year-old Brazilian singer, songwriter, DJ, and music producer, Pedro Sampaio, will close the third and final day of Marés Vivas, where Calema, Ozuna, and Nenny will also perform.
On the other four stages scattered throughout the venue, festival-goers can also enjoy performances by Insert Coin, Milhanas, Jéssica Pina, Zarco, Jimmy P., Beatriz Rosário, Lhast, and Tiago Nacarato.
New to this year's festival are a Ferris wheel and slide, as well as a larger and more diverse food court.
Does sold out mean something different in Portugal? As tickets for each day are still for sale right now. 1528 on Friday
