Camp Sonshine is a popular summer camp held in Vale Judeu in the Algarve. Each year, the church fundraises to cover the costs to include children from local orphanages in a fun-packed week that they wouldn’t ordinarily be able to experience. The children arriving at the camp often have little more than a carrier bag with a change of clothes for the week.

On hearing about this, Jeni and Jan decided they would fundraise to cover not only the cost of the camp for each child but also extra items like pillows and blankets or a backpack for their belongings. Jeni and Jan have set themselves the target of raising €200 per child to cover attendance and any extras they need.

To date, the friends have made good progress towards their target, but they intend to keep up the fundraising until the start of the camp in early July. Anyone wanting to contribute can do so by donating by bank transfer into IBAN: PT50 0033 0000 4546 1263 347 05 (with the reference "Jeni and Jan") or by card payment in person at IECA.

The camp is also grateful to receive any donations of camping equipment, clothing, backpacks, etc, for the children, which can be donated directly to the IECA church in Vale Judeu.
