With just over a month to go until Chefs on Fire debuts in the Algarve, it’s time to reveal the chefs and bands invited to heat up Vilamoura Marina on 20, 21 and 22 June. Europe’s largest gastronomy and music festival brings together an unmissable line-up to enjoy at sunset.
Produced by Lohad and in partnership with master developer Vilamoura World, the gastronomic menu for this edition is organised into four categories - meat, fish, vegetarian and desserts - and brings together 12 chefs who will pay homage to the flavours of Algarve cuisine in their exclusive proposals. All the dishes will be prepared exclusively using fire, respecting the origin of the ingredients and the gastronomic traditions of the region, in an atmosphere of sharing and authenticity.
The main courses in the meat category will feature Marin Colomès, from the Alfredo restaurant, Pedro Pinto, from Viceroy, and João Oliveira, from Vista, which has a Michelin star and two Repsol Suns. In the fish dishes, José Lopes, from Bon Bon, and Louis Anjos, from Al Sud, both honoured with a Michelin star and two Repsol Suns, join Noélia Jerónimo, from the Noélia restaurant, bringing with them the essence of Algarve cuisine.
On the vegetarian side, the festival features Paulo Carvalho, from Zagaia, João Narigueta, from Híbrido, and Lívia Orofino, sous-chef from Canalha, honoured with a Sol Repsol. As for the desserts, Márcio Baltazar, Diogo Lopes, from the Four Seasons Hotel Ritz Lisbon, and Rita Santos, from Herdade do Esporão, who won two Sol Repsol awards, shine.
On stage, the curated musical programme continues to focus on the best of national creativity, while at the same time following the usual spirit of proximity and sharing. Each day will feature an intimate concert by: Capitão Fausto (20th), Best Youth (21st) and Gisela João (22nd).
Daily tickets cost €60 and include access to the venue between 5pm and midnight, live concerts and a four-course tasting menu: meat, fish, vegetarian and dessert. For vegetarians, an adapted version of the menu will be available with the same creative standards. Tickets and more information are available at www.chefsonfire.com.
Lighting a bonfire and gathering gastronomic and musical talents around it proved to be a success, as the festival gained scale with each edition and notoriety among the public and the gastronomic community. In 2024, Chefs on Fire was once again considered the best gastronomic event of the year by the website Mesa Marcada.
