Iberia's new boarding pass “reflects changes to the seat or boarding gate, if any, without requiring any action from the customer”, who simply receives a notification with the updated information.
According to a statement from the airline: “The new boarding pass automatically updates to reflect any changes to the seat or boarding gate, requiring no action from the passenger, who simply receives a notification with the updated details."
“Currently, passengers who obtain their boarding pass at the counter or via the app receive a static version that does not reflect any changes. Thanks to this improvement, the boarding pass is automatically updated in the event of a seat change, gate change or cabin upgrade, among others,” Iberia explained in the press release.
According to Iberia, this innovation “not only improves the customer experience,” but also helps to optimize operational times during boarding, like other tools that the carrier has been launching.
Despite the launch of this innovative digital boarding pass, Iberia assures that it will continue to inform passengers of changes and additional updates via email.
The new boarding pass is available through the Iberia app for users of iOS and Android devices, as well as for those who download the boarding pass to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet on the airline’s website.
In addition to this boarding pass with real-time updates, Iberia has also recently launched innovative projects such as “Iberia GPT”, a new conversational assistant on ChatGPT that helps customers plan their trips, and Háblalo x Iberia, an app that improves the travel experience for people with communication difficulties.
At the same time, Iberia was also one of the first airlines to partner with Apple to integrate AirTag information into its operations, allowing customers to share the location of their luggage and improving efficiency and the overall experience.
